Among the offerings, the highlight was the 2022 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, a marvel of modern engineering. Known as the world’s fastest road-going car for its record-breaking speed of over 300mph, this hypercar is not only a testament to speed but also to exclusivity, being one of just 30 produced. Its sale marked the first public offering of a Super Sport 300+ in America since its production, and it achieved an impressive $5,175,000.

Matching the modern marvel of the Chiron Super Sport 300+ was its historical counterpart, the 1936 Bugatti Type 57 Atalante Sunroof Coupe. This car, a gem from the 1930s and a participant in the 1938 Rallye des Alpes, is one of only four existing models with a factory-built sunroof. Its rich history and unique features drew considerable attention, culminating in a sale price of $1,380,000.

1966 Aston Martin DB6 Sports Saloon, sold for $268,800.

Highlights of the sale included:

1970 Maserati Ghibli 4.7 Spider, sold for $596,250. This special car, one of only 82 4.7-liter Ghibli Spiders produced, boasts a matching-numbers engine and is beautifully presented in a light metallic blue with black Connolly leather interiors.
1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, sold for $431,250. The new custodian takes on this highly desirable example which has been maintained with no expense spared.
1966 Aston Martin DB6 Sports Saloon, sold for $268,800. Offered without reserve, the car surpassed its high estimate due to keen bidder interest, highlighting the enduring appeal of the “DB” series, especially given this model’s original, numbers-matching chassis and engine.

The next sale taking place in the US is The Amelia Island Auction on February 29 at Fernandina Beach Golf Club. Preview lots can be viewed at

This week, the Bonhams|Cars Europe team will return to the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris, with previews beginning on Wednesday January 29 and the auction taking place on February 1.
